Have you ever wondered who gives out the presents at Christmas?
In New Zealand and England it’s Santa Claus or Father Christmas; in France it’s Pere Noel; in Germany it’s Christkind; in the Netherlands it’s St Nicholas; in Italy it’s La Befana; in Spain and South America it’s the Three Kings; in Russia it’s Babouschka and Grandfather Frost; and in Scandinavia it’s a variety of Christmas gnomes (one is called Julenisse).
I hope you get lots of cool presents for Christmas…

Some of you may be thinking that now is a good time to have some good manners so that Santa will be generous to you this year. To make sure your manners are acceptable, a great picture book that I have read is Stoo Hample’s Book of Bad Manners. This book, all in rhyme, shows what some kids are like when their manners are bad. From “Food-Face” to “Stinker” there are some great ways to find out how to be good-mannered from now until Christmas (aren’t you always?). Just remember Christmas is not all about presents. But if Santa does get want you want, try not to be a “Toy Hog” this Christmas.
