Johnsonville Friday Night Storytimes

Johnsonville library is starting up a new fun storytime on Friday nights. Beginning in the month of June they will be on the 1st Friday of each month at 6.30pm and each story time will have its own theme.

Our first story time will be on Friday 6th June at 6.30pm and our theme will be hats.

So come along for lots of fun and stories and remember to wear your most funniest, silliest or weirdest hat.

Here’s what’s happening today:

ComicFest!

Comics are fantastic – they’re visual, they’re literary, they’re fun, they’re for all audiences and on the 2nd and 3rd of May, we’re celebrating comics in a big way with our first ever ComicFest at the Central library.

 4.30–6.30pm | Comics 101 Workshop 

Led by bro’Town designer and award-winning comics illustrator, Ant Sang, this workshop is perfect for young and aspiring comic artists.

 

7–8pm | Panel Discussion 

Join Ant Sang (Creator of Shaolin Burning, designer for bro’Town), Grant Buist (Fishhead Magazine’s Jiteratti, animator and playwright) and Robyn Keneally (webcomic artist) as they discuss their work, their influences and the comic scene of Wellington and New Zealand.

SPCA Storytimes in the North

Make sure you come along to the SPCA storytimes at

Tawa Library on Monday 14th April @10.30

and

Johnsonville Library on Tuesday 15th April @ 10.30am

Along with our usual storytime we are going to be visited by some cute and cuddly furry animals.

We will lean how to care for and look after our pets and we will also hear all about what the SPCA does.
