Maker Kits at Johnsonville Library

Alec1Make sure you come along to your local Library and start creating with one of our Maker Kits. We have Lego and Mecanno plus rocket ships and wooden blocks.

Alec from Tawa was one of the first to make up one of our Lego Star Wars Kits which took him just under an hour to make.

You can play with the Maker Kits in the library for free. Ask about the Kits at the Library counter and have some creative fun.

A few things you need to know:

– Each Wellington City Library has Maker Kits, but each Library has something different

– Each Kit has a minimum age for use, so you can only use the Kits that you are old enough for

– Kits are for use in the library only

– They have to be issued on to a Parent/Guardian library card (a Guardian is someone aged 14yrs or older who is in charge of a younger person)

– Ask at the library counter to see the Kits your library has.

Great fun at Johnsonville during the holidays

The theme was Click, Make, Build and Create. We had about 80 parents and children enjoy a great range of fun activities from creating a Lego creation with only 32 pieces of Lego to having a lot of messy fun with some quicksand, plus heaps more.

We even had two 3D printers on display working their magic creating a small animal and a human hand. These were amazing to watch and a great draw card for both children and parents.

Check out our pictures from the session.
