Let’s Go LEGO Schedule Update

With another new year comes another set of LEGO adventures for Wellington library-goers! We’re making some changes to the Let’s Go LEGO schedule this year, so check the days and times below to see when it’s on at your local library!

Khandallah Library: 1st Friday of the month, 3:30-4:30pm
Cummings Park (Ngaio) Library: 2nd Thursday of the month, 3:30-4:30pm
Mervyn Kemp (Tawa) Library: 2nd Thursday of the month, 3:30-4:30pm
Johnsonville Library: 2nd Friday of the month, 3:30-4:30pm
Karori Library: 3rd Saturday of the month, 2:00-3:00pm

Let’s Go LEGO is a free, interactive LEGO-based programme for children aged 5+. In Let’s Go LEGO, your creative skills will be put to the test as you use the library’s LEGO collections to design and build your masterpieces. Each session will have a different theme that will inspire you to hone your skills and become your library’s very own LEGO legend.

Come along to our free movie event on Thursday 17th January starting at 2pm at Tawa Library

Its going to be Movie Mania with 3 movies in one day starting at 2pm and running through our library late night. Our last movie will begin at 6pm.

Starting our movie marathon will be a story of a big hearted bull who is mistaken for a dangerous beast and taken from his home. Come and see how he managed to make his way home.

Films are either rated G or PG

The Great Lego Holiday event at Tawa & Johnsonville Libraries

Are you looking for something to do during the holidays.  Then come along and have some fun by creating and completing Lego challenges.

Tawa Library have their event on Thursday 10th January from 2pm.

Johnsonville Library have their event on Friday 11th January from 2pm

Your clue to this month’s movie is an old vampire is worried about his half-human grandson. The boy shows no signs of being a vampire at all! Granddad Vampire decides he must try his hardest to bring out his grandson’s ‘vampire’ side. And if things weren’t tricky enough, the human-hating great-grandfather vampire comes to visit

This month what happens when a selfish and spoiled Emperor is magically transformed into a llama? What happens when the Empire is usurped by an evil advisor and the llama accidentally ends up in a village in the middle of the jungle? An adventurous journey to undo the spell and reclaim his kingdom, of course!

Stories @ Six at Tawa Library

Join us on Thursday 6th September at 6pm for our next Stories @ Six session at Tawa Library.

This month we welcome Liz Langham who will be sharing stories all about Spring.

Wear your PJ’s and bring along your teddies!!!

Tawa Library is open until 8pm on Thursday so plenty of time to issue books afterwards.

This is a free event suitable for all the family to enjoy with sessions running for around 30 minutes
