Stories @ Six at Tawa Library

Join us on Thursday 6th September at 6pm for our next Stories @ Six session at Tawa Library.

This month we welcome Liz Langham who will be sharing stories all about Spring.

Wear your PJ’s and bring along your teddies!!!

Tawa Library is open until 8pm on Thursday so plenty of time to issue books afterwards.

This is a free event suitable for all the family to enjoy with sessions running for around 30 minutes

Welcome Spring!

Spring is finally upon us!  It’s time to enjoy the longer, warmer days and get stuck into some fun outdoor activities.

For budding junior gardeners we have a fantastic bunch of books to help you grow your own plants, fruit and vegies.  How cool would it be to start a vegie patch in your backyard?!

Spring is the perfect time to go exploring outdoors.  Browse from our selection of recreation books, grab your friends and go on your own nature adventures.

Creative kids will love our arts and crafts books, jam-packed full of fun, seasonal activities.

As well as a wealth of non-fiction, there are also Spring fiction and picture book titles that you might like to try.  Why not make the most of a sunny weekend and read a book (or two, or three…) up a tree!

Have fun!

Spring Into Tawa with Hairy Maclary

Tawa Library is celebrating Spring Into Tawa on Saturday 8th September with several events.

First up is a special storytime on Hairy Maclary. It’s Hairy Maclary’s birthday in September, so join us at the library at 10.30am to hear some of Lynley Dodd’s stories read aloud. It’s tongue-twisting fun for children, and children-at-heart.

People from Tawa College Adult Education are also visiting Tawa Library for Spring Into Tawa. From 10am – 12.00pm there will be demonstrations on flax-weaving, wood-carving, patchwork and felt-making, and at 12pm there will be performances by ukulele and Irish whistle experts.

Also, don’t forget to visit the Wellington City Council stall in the main road outside the library.

Spring into Tawa is on September 8th from 9am – 12.30pm at Tawa Plaza and the Main Road shops.
