Fun at Tawa BookBusters

Tawa Bookbusters had a great session in May with a crowd of 20 BookBusters coming along for the fun. We welcomed some new members and gave out some certificates.

Well done to Harrison who got his 12 month certificate and Hamish and Max who got their 6 month certificates. Woo Hoo!

We heard an interesting story called Mirror by Jeannie Baker. This is a good book to read to find out more about Fair Trade (Fair trade Fortnight 5-20 May)

We did something different for our reviews- the Bookbusters Chief held up some different books and different BookBusters gave a review of it.

We also had to write our own story by each doing a different line, folding it over and passing it on to another person and then writing the next line. They came out very funny. Here’s some of them:

1) Once upon a time, there was a girl named Venessa and a boy called Harry, they found 3 gems and wonderred what to do with them. They went to their mum an dad’s for a hot chocolate.

2) Once in a far away land, there was a chubby cat and a fluffy dog in a jungle. , ” Waho!!” Shouted Lochie, but when he touched one, they felt scared and then he flew away.

3) One day, there were 2 dogs named Amy and Zoe, and one day they fall into a deep pit. It was very dark and cold. They were scared there was nothing left but dirt.

4) One beautiful sunny day, Issac and Lochie came across a chest full with diamonds. They got trapped in a jungle of snakes. I need to rescue it. After years, someone came along and fished them out.

Come along to the next BookBusters meeting at Tawa Library – June 6th at 4pm. See you there for more fun!
