Kids Choice reviews

Hey guys…..read any good books lately? If you have, we want to hear about it. Send us a review about the book and nominate it for Kids Choice. Then we put a sticker saying ‘Kid’s Choice’ on all our copies of that book because you told us you liked it! You can nominate a book for Kids Choice by getting a review form from any of our libraries or send a review online at: /kids/reviewform.html We are needing to hear more about the books you like! I’m looking forward to those reviews! Bring it on!

Kids’ Choices for February 2009

fantastic book? This year, we’re making Kids’ Choice much more exclusive; we’re going to select five Kids’ Choice books per month. This is going to be tough, since you keep sending in heaps of Kids’ Choice reviews for some really cool books, but we’re up to the challenge (so keep reviewing)!

The Kids’ Choice selection for this month is a great collection of fantastic books, from the last book in the really popular, amazing Inkheart trilogy, through one of my all time top favourite books (Howl’s Moving Castle) to yet another one of the Warriors books by Erin Hunter. Those cool cats, everyone loves them! Check out book descriptions and listen to the kids’ choice reviews on the Kids’ Choice page.

The Best Kids’ Choice Picks of 2008

Best of 2008!

gold medalbook coverIn December kids voted for their favourite Kids’ Choice book for 2008* and we’re happy to announce that My Sister Jodie by Jacqueline Wilson won the Kids’ Choice 2008 Gold Medal, thanks to lots and lots of Jacqueline Wilson fans out there.

The second most popular book was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney, and the awesome Skulduggery Pleasant: Playing with Fire by Derek Landy also got heaps of votes.

If you haven’t read any of these books maybe you should check them out? They’re all good reads. For other good reads and recommendations from kids check out the Kids’ Choice page or the Book Reviews page on the kids’ site. If you don’t see your favourite book there and you think that’s scandalous, don’t fret! You can submit a review, and also nominate a kids’ choice here. We like hearing which books you love!

* This was for new books received by the library in 2008 only, so while The BFG by Roald Dahl is a fab book it wasn’t included, since we’ve had it for aaaages!
