New Single: Bored Housewives Club

‘New Single’ is where a band or artist answers a couple of quick questions about their latest Single release. Up next is Alayne from Bored Housewives Club, who have a new single, ‘Pink Depression’, out today.

What the song is about lyrically?
The song is about when your depression has you in a state of not being able to do regular life things, but you’re trying hard to get the enthusiasm to at least leave the house.

Who produced/recorded it? Did the track come together in the studio, or at home?
The track was recorded and mixed by the legend Joel Cosgrove, with most of the recording happening in our friend Kenny’s flat. It was mastered by the lovely Oli Devlin.

Were there any gear or effects that you used in the mix to get the sound you were after?
As a loud two-piece, there is always the question of how we make our songs sound as big as they need to. In this track, Aaron recorded extra guitar takes to layer the sound. When playing we also experiment with him splitting his guitar to both a guitar and bass amp.

Is this a stand-alone track or part of an upcoming album or EP?
Pink depression will eventually be part of an upcoming EP. We have four other singles to release from that EP so stay tuned for more Bored Housewives Club tunes.
