Up next is Jayden Quinn, who records under the moniker Quinn.wav, and has just released the album Vertigo.

Who are you? Tell us a bit about your music:
My name is Jayden Quinn but my artist name is Quinn.wav. I guess the type of music I create is what my life is I try and create stuff that other people can relate to also. Heartbreak is one of the biggest focuses and depression it makes it easier for me to deal with these things putting them into songs I guess you could say I make new age sadboy music I try to always include a positive outlook at the same time.

What have you been working on lately? Any new tracks or albums on the way?
I have been working on 2 albums 1 called Vertigo that is just out, and the other is called 1996 that releases on my 24th birthday. There is set to be 20 tracks on 1996.

Where is the best place people can follow you & find your music?
My Instagram handle is Quinn.wav you can find my music on Spotify/Apple Music/Google Play/Soundcloud, all the major streaming platforms

What were the 3 most influential albums to you growing up?
I wouldn’t really say I had the experience of albums due to not having much money growing up, but I did listen to a lot of Wu tang clan/Biggie smalls etc.

Which other Wellington musician (s) would you most like to work with?
Anyone who is driven and committed. I would like to work with some acoustic artists, people who play the guitar. I am always keen to adventure and work with any new artist.

What’s your favourite Wellington venue to play in?
I have only played at MOON bar in Newtown, and I am impressed and felt very welcome by their service. Would love to get some more gigs at other venues. Valhalla is my favorite.

In your songwriting or composing (or the band’s songwriting) how do the compositions and songs take shape?
Most of the time it is past or present expectances. I tend to stick to one genre, it’s kind of hard to put into words. I sit down for a few hours a night and write. I spend at least 6 hours a day on music.

Where/when is your next gig?
My next gig is at MOON bar along with many other talents under IMOL October, on the 17th October. I will be playing some unreleased songs from 1996.
