Musician Interview: Lake South
Lake South talks to us about his new album 'We lived our lives on top of this'.

After a four-year hiatus, acclaimed electricUTOPIA band Lake South return with their fourth album, We Lived Our Lives on Top of This.
We Lived Our Lives on Top of This was written in pockets of free time over the course of three years, following the birth of Lake’s first child—an event that heavily informs the album. It explores themes of immense joy and the delicate embrace of a love without limit. The album blends moments of stillness and reflection with highly danceable, groove-heavy tracks.
Lake South’s current line-up features Theo Sekeris (Ras Judah, Rubita) on bass, Eddie Crawshaw (Sheep, Dog & Wolf; Bonaparte) on drums, and Penelope Esplin (French for Rabbits, Eigenface) on harmonies and synths.

We were thrilled when Lake McKenna, aka Lake South took time out from his very busy schedule to discuss ‘We lived our lives on top of this', his approach to music and his involvement with the Wellington Sea Shanty Society and we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to him.
