Kids’ Club Review by Harshit Kumar: Howl’s moving castle

Howl’s moving castle / Jones, Diana Wynne

I rated this book 5 stars because it tells about three kids named Sophie, Lettie and Martha. Sophie was the oldest of all the daughters. They lived with their parents in market chipping, a town in the magical kingdom of Ingary but when their mother died, their father married a woman named Fanny. Then their father died and Fanny separated their kids. Sophie would work in a hat shop, Lettie would work in a cake shop and Martha would live with a woman. Then there was a castle that all people were afraid of. It belonged to a wizard called Howl. The people of the town were also afraid of the witch of the waste. One day, she discovers that she is in a horrid spell which transforms her into an old lady. She then decides to see the castle but when she went inside, she meets a new boy named Michael. He is a nice boy. She also meets a fire demon and she decides to strike a bargain to remove the spell. She then decides to help clean the house for Howl. One Day, they also meet Howl’s nephews. Their names were Megan and Mari. Then Sophie has a new dog, which is a dog man. Then, the witch of the waste figured out where the castle so they moved to Sophie’s house and they decided to open a flower shop.

Kids’ Club Review by Harshit Kumar: Beezus and Ramona

Beezus and Ramona / Cleary, Beverly

I rated this book 5 stars because it tells that Beezus has a little sister named Ramona. She is sometimes annoying to her. One time, Beezus and Ramona went to the library and they each chose a book to read. By the time it was due, Beezus and her mother found out that that she had scribbled on the book with purple crayon so Beezus had to pay for the book but after she pays, the book is hers that made Beezus feel better but when Ramona invited the whole class for a party without telling her family that she wanted one, she is bosses them around thinking that it was her own party and she also distracts Henry and Beezus from playing checkers. Also Beezus’s tenth birthday is coming up so she decides that Aunt Beatrice would come for dinner and her mom to bake a cake with pink frosting on it but her sister ruins the two cakes so her mom asks Aunt Beatrice to bring the cake from the bakery. On the evening of her birthday, Aunt Beatrice arrives with presents for Ramona and Beezus and her wishes come true and she has the best birthday ever and she is also not annoyed with Ramona now.
