Adventure time comics are a great adaptation of the series.  The illustrators Braden Lamb and Shelli Paroline do a great job of translating the TV series characters to their 2 dimensional comic book format.

Summer holiday reading has introduced a lot of children to the popular characters of the comic universe.  Classics and new comers have been celebrated in the first top 10 for 2016. The characters from Peanuts, Asterix and Batman have inspired movie makers.  Take a look in the children’s dvd collection for the latest Asterix adventure, The Mansion of the Gods in French and English, and head to the movies for Peanuts.

Top 10 Children’s comics November 2015

Online comics are now free to stream through ComicsPlus!  There’s a children’s collection to browse through including Top Ten numero uno Big Nate.

Author Lincoln Peirce has Big Nate titles in books and comics. The comics are really popular so if you can’t find one, head over to the fiction shelves for a browse.  The Big Nate website has some corker reviews, most beloved by the author was, “Big Nate Is Going To Blow Your Pants Off!”, a pretty high accolade!

Charlie Brown and the gang have topped the charts. A winning combination of great characters and cool dialogue this classic comic strip remains a favourite.

Want to find out more about comics and graphic novels? The brother sister team responsible for Babymouse, Matthew and Jennifer L. Holm, have some info and links on their Babymouse website.  If you like their style check out their new title, Sunny Side Up set in Florida.   Jennifer is the writer for Babymouse, and she’s written some great books as well.  She won a Newbery Honor award for a couple of books, we have one of them,  Turtle in Paradise right here.

And the results are in… The classic comics power block Charlie Brown, Tintin and Asterix still rank strongly, but coming in at a new 10th place is Sonic! will the boomers (Sonic fans) change up the results table, we will have to wait another nail biting, comic reading month!
