ArtThe printed version of 2008 New Zealand International Arts Festival programme has arrived at your local library! Beginning 22 February 2008, artists from all over the world converge on the Capital to present a feast of music, dance and visual arts. Why not check out the Arts Festival website where you can create your festival shortlist to help plan and book your events? MusicHeat is monthly dance party for youth 15 and over. It happens on the last Friday of every month, 10.00pm at Subnine, 9 Edward Street, Wellington. Tickets cost $10.00. Are you a Chris Knox fan? Knox, considered by some to be the "godfather of New Zealand alt rock", will be doing a free late night session at the City Gallery (Civic Square, Wellington) Tuesday December 13, 5.30 - 7.30pm. The Museum of Wellington City and Sea will be screening original short films from students of the Film & Television School who have taken nine stories from the Telling Tales exhibition. The current offerings look at Wellington-specific stories from the 20th Century such as Wellington's first car, the launch of Tip Top icecream, and two street battles over racial discrimination, in Manners Street in 1943 and Molesworth Street during the 1981 Springbok tour. |
