Public Libraries in Wellington
There are 12 public libraries in Wellington for you to use. Sometimes they are called library branches. Your library card can be used at all of them but some do not have books on every subject. To check opening hours, telephone 384-7640. Library staff are there to help you find what you need.

Central Library The library with the most books is in the City at 65 Victoria Street, by Civic Square. All buses running through the Central City will come within one block (use Willis Street bus stop), or there is a car park underneath (off Harris Street). It is open: Monday to Thursday 9:30am-8:30pm; Friday 9:30am-9:00pm; Saturday 9:30am-5:00pm; Sunday 1pm-4pm. more information |

Newtown Library Has lots of books, newspapers and magazines in different languages. It is at 13 Constable Street, Newtown. The nearest bus stop is in the Newtown Shops or there is free 20-minute car parking. It is open: Monday to Thursday 10am-6pm; Friday 10am-8pm; Saturday 10am-12:30pm. more information |
