Moomin builds a house.

After Mymble’s family comes to visit the Moomins, her littlest and most badly behaved sister, Little My, is left behind. She promises to behave if she is given Moomin’s bedroom ; Moomin, tired of being forced out of his room, decides to build a house where all the rooms will belong to him. With Little My helping out, things are sure to go awry, but in the end, Moomin’s house-building misadventures teach him the value of a home.

The Bad Guys Episode 1.

They sound like the Bad Guys, they look like the Bad Guys and they even smell like the Bad Guys. But Mr Wolf, Mr Piranha, Mr Snake and Mr Shark are about to change all of that. Mr Wolf has a daring plan for the Bad Guys’ first good mission. The gang are going to break 200 dogs out of the Maximum Security City Dog Pound. But, will Operation Dog Pound go smoothly and will the Bad Guys become the Good Guys?

Matthew likes to build things. And invent things. So finding a box sitting in front of his house one day is a real stroke of luck. But he has to pinch himself when it suddenly starts talking. A living toolbox! Even better, Box loves to invent things too, so the two become fast friends. But where did Box come from, and how did he get to be so magical? When his secret comes out and accidentally leaves Matthew’s parents frozen, the two friends will have to race to find the answers and save the day.

The Grand Duke : a Lucky Luke adventure

Grand Duke Leonid of Russia is in Washington to sign a commercial treaty on behalf of the Tsar. But this larger-than-life aristocrat has read too much Fennimore Cooper and wants to visit the West. The US government is forced to agree to his whim – but wisely chooses Lucky Luke to escort him to the cattle capital of the West: Abilene. A good thing too, because the Russian Grand Duke encounters real American desperados on his visit!
The adventures of Tintin: The secret of The Unicorn.

When Tintin stumbles across a model ship at the Old Street Market, he buys it as a gift for his friend Captain Haddock. But this isn’t just any old model ship …it’s the Unicorn. Built by one of Haddock’s ancestors it holds a clue to finding the treasure of a notorious pirate.

The Pokemon phenomenon continues…

The animation, comic and app have captured the hearts and minds of many, so if you’re coming to the library for comics, reserve your copies to make sure you won’t be disappointed.

Did you know that Lord Evil has written an Adventure Time Encyclopaedia?!  Anything you want to know from about the land of Ooo (from the perspective of Lord Evil) can be found in it’s pages.  Luckily Finn, Jake and Marceline have put notes in the book when Lord Evil gets a bit over the top!

Springing into action –  Pokemon the stand out favourites in the comic section.  Did you know that for the school last school holidays over 7000 comics were issued from Wellington Libraries!  You guys really love comics, huh? The first Monday of the holidays was a massive day for the comic collection when over 500 went out on the one day.

The lovable fat cat Garfield has been around since 1978! Think you know your Garfield? Did you know that this food obsessed cat has his own TV award? That’s right in 1985 his show bagged an Emmy! Take a look and see!

Adventure time comics are a great adaptation of the series.  The illustrators Braden Lamb and Shelli Paroline do a great job of translating the TV series characters to their 2 dimensional comic book format.
