Are you looking for something to do after school?  Then come along and have some fun by creating and completing Lego challenges.

Tawa Library have their event on Thursday 9th August  at 3.30pm – 4.30pm.

Johnsonville Library have their event on Friday 10th August at 3.30pm – 4.30pm.

Games Night at Johnsonville Library!

Join us for a Games Night at Johnsonville Library this Friday 27th July at 5pm.

We have a range of board games to choose from including popular classics like Settler of Catan, Risk or Trivial Pursuit and less common games like Starfluxx, Munchkin or King of Tokyo.

Most games are for ages 8+ though we have a few games for younger children too. You could also bring a game of your own to play with new people.

Games Night starts at 5pm but you are welcome to arrive late, you might just need to wait a little before you can join in the next round.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

Teddy Bear Sleepover at Khandallah Library

Yes, you heard right — the Great Teddy Bear Sleepover is coming to Khandallah Library again! Bring your favourite teddy bear or soft toy and join us for a super fun half hour of stories, songs, and activities, then leave your teddies behind to have a big sleepover with all their new friends. Who knows what they’ll get up to in the library after hours… pick them up on Friday to find out!

Chinese Storytime at Johnsonville Library

Come and join us for a fun and interactive Mandarin Storytime with Chinese stories, songs and rhymes.

Children and care-givers who speak Mandarin, or use Mandarin as a second language will love these sessions.

Our next Chinese Storytime will be held at Johnsonville Library on:

Friday 20th July at 10.30am and will continue on the third Friday of each month.

This is a free event aimed for pre-schoolers through to 10 years but all are welcome

Session will run for 30 minutes.

Beyond the Page

The wait is over! Beyond the Page is here for the July School Holidays.

There are over 100 events happening across the Wellington region between 7-22 July – all are free and all are loads of fun.

Drag Queen storytimes, writing workshops, movies, lego challenges, robotics, comics and drawing, and even a special storytime on the cable car – so much to choose from.

Singing performance and workshop with the Manawa Ora Children Community Choir

How exciting! A children’s choir will be doing a performance and singing workshop in the central Library, and you can come along!

The Manawa Ora Children Community Choir is a group of young singers who comes together each week to learn music from around the world. In this choir, children are accepted, celebrated and empowered, as they learn to sing in parts and in different languages. They then share their love of music with others by singing at rest homes and community events, and for the first time they will be singing in the library!

Come along and join in for a free interactive performance and workshop!  Children, parents, and grandparents are all welcome. Bookings aren’t required.
