Kids’ Club Review by Luke: The princess in black and the perfect princess party

The princess in black and the perfect princess partyThe princess in black and the perfect princess party, by Shannon Hale

It is Princess Magnolia’s birthday. Before the guests arrive, the monster alarm rings and Magnolia has to become the Princess in Black to defeat the monsters. Once defeated. the princess goes to enjoy her party but every time she opens a gift, the monster alarm rings again. How does she fight the monsters but not let her guests know her monster fighting secret? I think this is a good book for children 6+. I liked it because Princess Magnolia is not a traditional Princess but a cool, monster fighting one. I rate it 5 stars just for challenging stereotypes.
