Matilda, by Roald Dahl
The story is about a little girl called Matilda. Her family is always being really mean to her and is always teasing her for no reason. But one day she finds herself and plays tricks on the rest of her family. For example, Mr Wormwood couldn’t get his hat off because Matilda had put super glue in it. Then she found a place were she could stay away from her mean family, keep dry, and do what she wants to do: read.
The main characters in the story are Matilda, Mr Wormwood, Mrs Wormwood, Michael, Amanda Thripp, Bruce Bogtrotter, Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull.
One of the best parts of the book was when Matilda put a live frog in the mean Miss Trunchbull’s glass of water then Miss Trunchbull freaked out big-time.
The way Roald Dahl describes things like this is what makes the book so entertaining and funny.
The book also shows that by reading you can improve your life and make your self smarter.
I think this book is for kids from 7 to 11 years old.
