Syndetics book coverChanging on the job : developing leaders for a complex world / Jennifer Garvey Berger.
“A ‘must read’ for developmental and developing executive coaches…This is an excellent book, pragmatic, clear and finely honed. It furthers understanding on adult development theory giving the coach an excellent reference manual to compliment coaching work and giving coachees who are willing to engage with it a clear sight of their potential/optional developmental pathway. Knowing that it was developed from the direct experience of someone who ‘gets her hands dirty’ in this space gives it added credibility. I got a lot of value and will continue to do so for years to come. (Amazon reviewer)

Syndetics book coverProject leader : what the best project leaders know, do and say to get results, every time / Mike Clayton. “I found this book packed with leadership tools and insight that have clearly been proven in the real world and are clearly informed by research from various fields such as psychology, social science and our understanding of how the brain works.” (Amazon reviewer)

Syndetics book coverThe pathfinder : how to choose or change your career for a lifetime of satisfaction and success / Nicholas Lore.
“Lore is founder of the Rockport Institute, a national career counseling network. In a mix of Myers-Briggs lingo, New Age precepts, and 1990s pragmatism, he applies a Socratic process to uncovering career and life goals and to fulfilling them. Included are more than 100 inquiry worksheets that question such matters as career fantasies, specific work environments, and so on. Helping to inspire, delight, and create enthusiasm are the quotes from famous people, such as Gandhi (“You must be the change you wish to see in the world”) and Lily Tomlin (“The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you’re still a rat”). Obviously, the actual stages of self-discovery are as long or as abbreviated as individual schedules allow, but Lore insists that the exercises are worth the considerable frustration, time, and effort. And he’s probably right. (Reviewed December 15, 1997)0684823993Barbara JacobsFrom Booklist, Copyright (c) American Library Association. Used with permission.” (Booklist)

Syndetics book coverJob searching with social media for dummies / by Joshua Waldman.
“I speak at social media conferences all over the country. My main audience is business owners and CMOs, but in this economy I always get several questions about using social media to find a job (or even better, to get recruited)….I had compiled a list of blog posts that were somewhat useful, but this book is THE ultimate resource for using social media to find a job. I have already recommended it to a few dozen people…These are the three reasons I liked this book so much:- It’s easy to read and extremely well organized – It uses a very hands-on approach. It shows you exactly what you need to do, step-by-step. – It has many screenshots and to-do lists, making the information really easy to digest.” (Amazon reviewer)

Syndetics book coverBoomerang : travels in the new Third World / Michael Lewis.
“MUST READ book on financial crisis to date for anyone…Absolutely the most articulate and eye opening book covering the financial crisis I’ve seen to date. I found myself with a whole new understanding of what has happened in the world in the past few years. Stunning insight, plainspoken with punctuated humor (to the degree one can insert humor into massive human tragedy). I am savvier as a citizen and voter and want everyone to read this book. We should be holding all politicians and corporate deeply accountable for their actions. This book fuels my desire to do so. A must read. (Amazon reviewer)
