Every year thousands of avid readers and movie & music lovers gather at Central Library for the May book sale. Judging by its past popularity, this sale should be no different. Past buyers have used the sale to find the best book deals, to complete their personal collections or just to rummage and find a gem. And the sale helps our libraries by making room for an ever increasing collection.

Highlights of this sale: a great range of non-fiction books, along with the usual range of adult fiction, DVDs, CDs and magazines on every topic imaginable. As at each previous sale, stock is replenished at regular intervals ensuring there are always fresh bargains to be found. And they really are bargains – prices start from 50 cents for magazines, adult fiction, and young adult/teens books with most other items between $1 and $6 and some marked prices.

If you love a bargain, you won’t want to miss it. The book sale starts Tuesday 16 May at 9.30am, Central Library.

Bumper book sale starts Tuesday 29 November

Past buyers have used the sale to find the best book deals, to complete their personal collections or just to rummage and find a gem. And the sale helps our libraries by making room for an ever increasing collection. The major highlight of this sale is that unlike the previous non-fiction sale, this sale has a wide variety of fiction (and non-fiction) books, DVDs and CDs for sale.  As at each previous sale, stock is replenished at regular intervals – ensuring there are always fresh bargains to be found.

The book sale this time will be located in the Central Library Mezzanine Room. It opens 9.30am on Tuesday 29 November, ending 4pm on Sunday 4 December.

Extra Special Booksale starts Tuesday

Past buyers have used the sale to find the best book deals to add to their personal collections or just to rummage and find a reference gem. And the sale helps our libraries by making room for an ever increasing collection. The major highlight of this sale is the concentration on a great range of non-fiction. As at each previous sale, stock is replenished at regular intervals – ensuring there are always fresh bargains to be found. And they really are bargains in this extra special sale – prices are $2 per book, including songbooks – though some of the latter are individually priced.

Library pop up booksale – a non-fiction bonanza!

It’s Spring, and some exceptionally bookish bargains have sprung. Our non-fiction sale covers a diverse range of subjects, including travel, history, cooking, gardening, art,computers, science and much more. Find inspiration, learn a skill or stash a few Christmas pressies away.

The sale starts at 9:30am on Tuesday 15 September and runs until Saturday 26 September. Books are priced from $4 and tables will be replenished regularly.

  • biographies, children’s books, audiobooks on CD, language books, music scores all at 50c
  • all adult non-fiction $2.00
  • adult and young adult fiction 20c each or 6 for $1.00
  • magazines – all at 20c
