Moving here from Thailand six years ago, this Book relishes the freedom to choose who and what she wants to be in New Zealand. Free from the cultural and social expectations of Thai culture, she enjoys being respected for who she is and the down to earth and ‘DIY’ approach we have to life. But along with connecting with her own inner strength she has also encountered depression and other challenges. What’s your story : nou te korero – library week 2008 ; 18-24 August is happening nationwide in New Zealand. Wellington City Libraries is taking part by organising a Living Library at Central, on Friday the 22nd of August, from 2pm till 6pm.

The concept of the Living Library started back in 2000 in Denmark and they are now very popular throughout Europe, and the UK. There are several articles online featuring these events such as The new library fad : borrow a person (TimesOnline), Take out your prejudice in the living library (Norden), and coverage of the Bradford (UK) event – Living by the book, and this TV report : ‘Living Library’ in Bradford.
