At last our public PCs available for library customers will be upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010. This will start happening in December across all our library sites.
At first, our free internet service will be on separate computers to the full paid internet service, but our aim is to offer both services on all our public computers again next year. Some existing options such as typing in non-English alphabets also will not be available immediately, but we hope to add those back in at the same time.
This upgrade includes new software to manage the services, such as the timing system. Customers wishing to use our paid internet service will still need to receive an access code from staff. Prices remain the same. Once the basic services are fully in place, there will be more advantages in the future such as wifi printing.
Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.
