Earth People and class visit at Mervyn Kemp library, Tawa

We have had an exciting week at Tawa. On Monday after school 20 children and some adults helped us make Earth People and colour in pictures. Brigid and Subhashni looked stunning in their national costumes.

Yesterday Brigid had a double class visit. They were 5 and 6 year old students from Hampton Hill School. They discussed “To Our Shores” stories compiled by Angie Belcher. We talked about how we all came from somewhere else and how we all live here. Then we had a lovely surprise visit from Desigin from the Human Rights Commission, he gave all the children a tattoo of the diversity fern.

We all looked at the lovely display of dolls from around the world and there were many books about different cultures to read. Well done Tawa!
