What's on at Karori Library
Christmas at Karori Library!
We will be reading Christmas stories after school on Tuesday 18th December @ 3:30pm.
There will be heaps of Christmassy crafts to do too, so come along and help us decorate our tree!
Join us on Thursday 20th December @ 10:30am for a fun-filled preschool storytime.
We'll have lots of christmas stories and songs and an extra special guest!
- Storytime is every weekday at Karori Library at 10:30am in the children's area
- Storytime runs for about half an hour, with stories and songs
- Pre-school storytimes are fun and free - there's no charge, and you don't have to book
- Storytime is aimed at pre-school age children (three and four years old) - but younger siblings are always welcome!
Come along - we'd love to see you there!
The picture on the the right just goes to show that you never know who will turn up to storytime! (Taken at a special storytime where children were introduced to 5 day old baby chicks.)
Storytime favourite reads
We asked our storytime librarians to share with us some of their favourite books, and here they are:
How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?
By Jane Yolen
Read all about the different ways a dinosaur can say goodnight, from slamming his tail and pouting to giving a big hug and kiss!
By Deborah Niland
Annie loves her chair so much she wants to keep it all to herself! Will she ever learn to share?
By Giles Andreae and Nick Sharratt
Big and frilly, small and silly, let's see what sort of pants you see in this fun book.
By Lynley Dodd
Black and curious is Slinky Malinki. A rhyming account of the night this adventurous cat goes thieving and becomes entangled in his ill-gotten gains.
Food and drink
The library includes a cafe, Arobake on the Square - and you are welcome to bring your food and drink from the cafe (be it a BLT or coffee and cake) through into the library to relax in our comfy armchairs.
